Listen to Watchmen by lord-phillock Listen to Watchmen by lord-phillock
The custom cover art to the WATCHMEN score I just had a listen to. Yes, I designed this. Feel free to use it for your own MP3 iTunes Watchmen Score album art!

(Note: I'm not one of the billions of people dragged into the "Watchmen" movie hype... If I had read the Watchmen comic series a few years earlier I might have been a fan, but not now)

I love film music, and its pretty much obligatory I listen to score from movies I haven't even seen yet.

First off, I didn't really like the music score by Tyler Bates very much. It had too much 300-style sounds and tones. Plus, it wasn't very memorable; however, it succeeded (as Tyler Bates does) in being atmospheric.

Oh, I did read the comic first before watching the movie. Didn't like the movie compared to the comic.

Coraline and The Dark Knight have the best music...

And I am into the hype! But that's just because I love when movies are practically an event.

Dark Knight you say?

hmmmm... this is where we disagree. While the music fit the movie well, I don't think it was in any way "super good". First of all, I was disappointed with BATMAN BEGINS and how Hans Zimmer was made to write the music, despite not really being interested; and we all know Hans Zimmer ranges from really good and memorable (Lion King, Crimson Tide) to repetitive and banal (Da Vinci Code, Madagascar), and I personally thing the reboot Batman movies' music aren't as great as Danny Elfman's resonant and fulfilling themes for the two Burton BATMAN movies. Even the animated series had Shirley Walker doing a rendition of, what I think, is the best Batman theme to date!

however, TDK's music does fit with the movie like a glove. But it would have been better if it had more memorable themes and, dare I say it, interesting music to go along with it.

am I making sense? I feel like I'm just rambling. :P
